Sana Mir Announces Retirement From International Cricket

Former Pakistan women's cricket team captain Sana Mir has announced her retirement from international cricket.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Sana Mir announced her retirement and said that she was deeply grateful to the Pakistan Cricket Board for giving her the opportunity to represent the country for 15 years.

She said, "It's a great honor and a source of pride for me."

Sana Mir said that she was thankful to the staff, players, ground staff and everyone who contributed to their success and development of women's cricket behind the scenes.

Sana Mir said that the last few months have given her ample opportunity to think, this is the best time to move forward in life and she is sure that she has been able to play a great role for the country and the game.

Sana Mir said that when she looks back on her career, she is happy to know that she has been a part of a process that led to the ICC Women's World Cup at Lord's for the first time in a packed stadium. The final of 2017 was played and then the final of the ICC Women's Twenty20 World Cup 2020 was played at Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of 87,000 spectators.

She said that these are the 2 best achievements of women's cricket.

Sana Mir said that it is an honor to represent Pakistan and to wear a green jersey, but now is the time to move forward and this line of service will continue in a different way.
