The Saudi People's Campaign to Boycott Turkish Products Gained Momentum

Many large departmental stores removed Turkish products, and large numbers of people stopped buying.

Relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been bitter for some time. One of the main reasons for this was the conference of Islamic countries in Malaysia, which some people called a policy of ignoring Saudi Arabia. The two countries are not on the same page on many regional disputes. A few days ago, the chairman of the Saudi Chamber of Commerce called on the people to boycott Turkish products.

In this regard, Arab News claims that the popular campaign to boycott Turkish products in the country has gained momentum in the last few days. This boycott also has the support of local companies. According to News, Riyadh's oldest Al-Sudhan Group, one of the stores, has expressed its support for the campaign.

Its CEO, Eid al-Ghanzi, told Arab News that it was not appropriate for society to buy and sell Turkish products when Turkey had shown clear hostility to the state and its leadership.

The group's top management had instructed Al-Sadhan and Spar supermarkets to stop selling Turkish products.

The statement added that the Al-Sadhan group would continue to support national efforts to serve the religion, the king and the country. Al-Ghanzi said that it was necessary to boycott all Turkish products because Turkey has shown its hostility towards the kingdom and will not tolerate any attempt to harm the country and the Saudis. He said it was the duty of every citizen to boycott the products of any country that did not respect the kingdom and the Saudi leadership.
