WhatsApp Introduce New Feature to Mute Contacts or Groups Forever
WhatsApp update tracking site WABetaInfo reports that one of the new changes that appeared in the new beta version 2.20.201.10 for Android devices is the feature called Always Mute.
This feature has been in the works for the last several months and now it looks like it will be available to all users very soon.
This feature allows users to permanently mute any contact or group notification.
WhatsApp currently offers users 3 options to mute users who are constantly notified by a group or contact, ie the notification can be muted for 8 hours, a week, or a year.
But this feature will remove the one-year option and replace it with the Always option.
To use this feature on the availability of all users, you need to open the WhatsApp and hold down the desired chat for a while, after which some icons will appear in the top bar.
If you select the mute icon there, you will see the options of 8 hours, one week, and always, from which you have to select and click on OK.
Once this is done, notifications for this particular chat will be permanently muted.
However, if the user wants to restore this chat, they have to re-press it and click on the menu or speaker icon.
By the way, if you are worried about people, added you to WhatsApp groups, you can enable a feature in the group privacy settings so that only certain people can add you to a new group.
Enabling this feature will allow users to receive invitations to a group and not add them directly.
